Why Patching the Old System Isn’t Working
When remote work hit, most teams did the logical thing: they took what worked in the office and moved it online. The spontaneous hallway chats everyone had in the office turned into scheduled check-ins on zoom. To recreate the physical office presence, we created camera-on policies. The assumption was that if people are visible, they’re aligned.
But visibility was never the point. Clarity was.
